Custom Wardrobe Sheet Types
Despite the dazzling array of boards on the market, there are actually 5 most common ones: solid wood board, particle board, multi-layer solid wood board, ecological board, and density board.
① solid wood board
The board is cut from pure natural wood, with natural texture, wear-resistant and load-bearing, and is currently a board with a high degree of environmental protection. However, because it is a pure natural board, the cost is very high, and the price is also the most expensive of all boards.
In addition, the density and hardness of solid wood panels are lower than those of wood-based panels, and the nail holding force is poor. The cabinet has been used for a long time, and the risk of deformation is high.
②Multilayer solid wood board
The wood is cut into veneer or veneer, and the board is formed by glue and heat pressing, also known as plywood.
Since it is a multi-layer structure, it has a stable structure, high hardness and strong bearing capacity. But the fatal flaw is poor toughness, easy to bend and deform, especially when making a cabinet with a height of more than 1.5 meters, the longitudinal stretching is too large, and the deformation probability is very high.
③Particle board
Using wood or lignocellulose as material, the board is synthesized by hot pressing with adhesive. Because of this, its production cost is very low, and the board has good stability and durability after pressing, so it has become the preferred board for many custom wardrobe brands.
However, particle boards are glued together after all, so formaldehyde pollution is inevitable. Therefore, some businesses on the market advertise that their boards achieve "zero formaldehyde", which is very false, don't believe it!
Of course, there is no need to worry too much about the formaldehyde problem. As long as the formaldehyde emission of the general particle board does not exceed the national standard E1 level, it is a qualified board and can be purchased with confidence.
④Ecological board
A kind of board with fir as the core and melamine veneer and veneer, which is also called in the market: melamine board/paint-free board. Because it only sticks a layer of wood grain veneer paper on the surface of the wood and uses less glue, it does not pollute much and has a high degree of environmental protection.
However, one defect of the ecological board is that the force is uneven, the nail holding force is poor, and the edge is easy to collapse. Therefore, it is more suitable for cabinet boards and wardrobe boards, and the cost performance is not high.
⑤ MDF
The board made of wood fiber and glue has low production cost but poor environmental protection. The only advantage is that it has good toughness, is not easy to deform and crack, and is very suitable for cabinet doors.
From the perspective of cost performance: particle board > multi-layer solid wood board > ecological board > density board > solid wood board
In terms of environmental protection: solid wood board > ecological board > multi-layer solid wood board > particle board > density board
If the pursuit of environmental protection, and the budget allows, the first choice is solid wood board, imported ecological board or imported particle board; if cost-effective, domestic particle board is preferred.
